Tryout Information
• All Tryouts will be held at Bristow Middle School.
• You must be registered for tryouts to be eligible to tryout. Girls in Grades 4-8 are eligible for West Hartford Travel Basketball. ALL PLAYERS MUST BE A RESIDENT OF WEST HARTFORD TO PARTICIPATE IN THE WEST HARTFORD TRAVEL PROGRAM PER LEAGUE RULES.
• Each grade will have two tryout dates and it is highly recommended that you attend both days of tryouts. If there is a conflict, please reach out to westhartfordmagic@gmail.com
• Arrive at each tryout no later than 10 minutes prior to your tryout.
• Players will only be trying out for their grade level.
• Returning players are not guaranteed a spot on the roster.
• Tryouts will be run and selections determined by a group of independent basketball evaluators.
• All players will be notified within a week of tryouts if they made the team or not.
Girls Tryout Schedule
4th Grade: Tue 10/01 @ 5:30-6:30p & Mon 10/07 @ 5:30-6:30p
5th Grade: Mon 09/30 @ 5:30-7:00p & Tue 10/08 @ 5:30-7:00p
6th Grade: Tue 10/01 @ 6:30-8:30p & Thu 10/10 @ 5:30-7:00p
7th Grade: Mon 09/30 @ 7:00-8:30p & Tue 10/08 @ 7:00-8:30p
8th Grade: Mon 10/07 @ 6:30-8:30p
Season Information
• Travel basketball practices will start mid-October and run through the first week of March.
• Games will start in mid-November with playoffs starting mid-March.
• Each team will have two practices each week (exception holiday break) and games will mostly be on the weekends.
• Our high school basketball coaches will be working with your travel coach and possibly stopping in on practices and/or games during the season. For 8th grade players moving onto a local high school in 9th grade, the high school coaches will already know each incoming freshman before they arrive at the school and begin high school tryouts.
